Todays society is both different and the same to the 60's. Men still have the most power. Women still have lesser power. Women have NOT caught up to the respectability of men, yet. I believe this is because they are not trying hard enough. In the 60's women really wanted change so they pushed for it and got it. Today, women complain about not having enough power, but they don't do ANYTHING about it. They let themselves be called "maids" and think it's funny when someone tells them to "get back in the kitchen." It's like women today expect themselves to be lesser beings and believe that it's a universal truth, when it's not. If there was another movement for Women's rights today then people would probably finnaly let them have equal power to men, but today they let themselves become eye candy to men.

Men =to Women?

JFK reflection
1. Although i knew much about JFK prior to the field trip, I did learn some nice facts. For instance, I didn't even know he was married! I also did not know that he had so many siblings, one being mentally disabled. Lastly, among other things, I learned that JFK loved history.
2. The elements of the trip most interesting was definitely the exhibits of JFK's life. These included the space program, his famous coconut, a hall of his assassination, and an immense window room with a single powerful quote from JFK on a stand in the middle, although the quote escapes me at the moment.
3. I thought the field trip went very smoothly, there was a good amount of people there, the exhibits were interesting, the memorial itself had food and a fight shop. All in all, it was a nice getaway day while learning about one of the greatest presidents of all time. I felt like a little kid at an aquarium looking at all of the exhibits.
4. JFK was not in term for as long as other presidents, but before his death he wrote down many of his great idea. Johnson, his successor, took these ideas and made them into reality. This leads me to believe that in any sort of presidential competition JFK and Johnson should be right next to each other with JFK on top. I believe that the brains should get more credit then the brawn. Since Johnson carried out JFK's bills and such, i believe that JFK should get most of the credit for they are his ideas. Since these bills were so important I believe that JFK is, in fact, a great president.

Zooks-Yooks
As the battle began with the Zooks and the Yooks,
The humans came and set off their nukes.
They said all without peace and Democracy shall die,
then they just left within a blink of an eye.
Only three of us were left in each tribe,
Our chiefs were dead-- not alive.
All that was left of us were you, your mother, and me,
all of them was him, his mother and he.
the arms race as over none of us won,
but now the battle versus the humans has begun.

Simpsons Blog Assignment
Part 1:
Knowing the Simpsons it would be an accurate assumption to think they would blow something like prohibition way out of proportion. This, however, was not the case in their episode of prohibition in Springfield. The producers of the Simpsons actually included many historically accurate facts such as mafia paying off cops and speakeasies, as well as their fair share of comedic relief like beer exploding. Some elements of life in the 1920's were portrayed well such as people smuggling beer and cops disobeying the law of prohibition. OF course i liked this episode, it's the Simpsons, who wouldn't!
Part 2:
Instead of the FBI agent beating up random people on the street and overlooking Homer because of it, perhaps:
As the FBI agent beats up people on the street in order to find a clue about the Beer Baron, he actually notices Homer, but something catches his eye. He runs by Homer screaming "STOP YOU FLAPPERS!!" It turns out to be a couple of ducks NOT wearing long pants and he arrests them.

Should true Americans have to give up personal freedoms during a time of war?
Should true Americans give up their personal freedoms during a time of war? Well the answer is in the question. A true American is someone who believes in freedom for everyone all of the time no matter what. If someone who thinks freedom is one of the most important things in life, then they would be hypocritical if they would give it up. During a time of war, what most soldiers are trying to protect IS freedom, so why should they fight for something that is no longer being practiced in their own country?

Spaniards destroy U.S.S Maine!!
Yesterday, February 15th 1898, citizens of Havan Harbor were startled by a sound of a terrible explosion. The U.S.S Maine exploded in a great ball of fire just off the coast of the Havan Harbor. Speculations show that Spainiards tampered with bombs on the Maine and caused the explosion. Two hundred and eighty six American men lost their lives in the explosion and there are only eighty nine survivors. Mckinley states that the Spanish used explosives to detonate the Maine meaning to kill everyone onboard. Rumors of a war are starting to brew here in America to avenge the innocent sailors who lost their lives. "Remember the Maine, to Hell with Spain!"
